Client Support Policy Relating to Faculty and Staff Machines [May 7th 2008] - Client Support is restricted from working on faculty/staff machines not owned by Stony Brook University. Client Support will provide support for the business and work efforts of University employees. Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac is Here [April 8th 2008] - Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac is available for installation on campus-owned machines. Faculty and staff need to contact their department's computer support technician or Client Support (2-9800) to request the software. Employees can purchase work-at-home licenses through Client Support. Students can obtain the software from Seawolves MarketPlace with their Stony Brook

Computer Assistance Offered to Students [January 23rd 2008] - On Sunday, Jan. 27, technicians from SB's Division of Information Technology will be on hand to assist students with computer registration and wireless issues from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. in the SAC's Traditions Lounge. | Vista Update [October 10th 2007] - Client Support is not endorsing the Microsoft Vista operating system on faculty/staff machines until university business applications are certified. Testing is still underway. An announcement will be made once Client Support begins supporting Vista on these computers. |

| All Faculty and Staff Now Have 500 MB of File Storage [August 24th 2007] - Students have been enjoying this benefit for the past year. Now Stony Brook University is providing 500 MB of file storage for all faculty and staff called MySBfiles. Files saved here are accessible on any machine with a web browser from on or off campus. The files are backed up at regular intervals, protected by AntiVirus software, and can be easily recovered. ...More Information |

| Internet Capacity Doubled [April 26th 2007] -
The capacity of the campus connection to the Internet was doubled on Tuesday evening, April 24, 2007. This new capacity will yield faster, smoother data transfer. The previous capacity increase was also a doubling of capacity that occurred only two years ago. |
